On February 10, 2021, WiDS @ Penn Co-Chair Mary Purk welcomed attendees to Day 3, which took a break from sharing emerging research and focused on career advice for women in the field.
Three esteemed data and analytics leaders provided a window into their data science journeys. Christine Cox, WG’01, Vice President of Data and Analytics for IKEA Digital, Didi Huang, WG’01, Director of Data Science (Business Opportunities) at Facebook, and Barkha Saxena, WG’11, Chief Data Officer of Poshmark, shared advice on how to navigate a successful career in data science, analytics, and digital transformation.
Following their talks, the industry panel answered questions from attendees, which was moderated by Mary Purk who is also the Executive Director of Wharton Customer Analytics and AI for Business. The discussion was sponsored by Wharton Women in Business (WWIB), a community that represents over 650 female students and partners in the Wharton MBA program.
